Release: 65th Primetime Emmy Production Team Announced

Renato Basile, Danette Herman, Louis J. Horvitz and Brian Stonestreet Named to Production Team for The 65Th Primetime Emmy Awards

NoHo Arts District, Calif., July 17, 2013 — Renato Basile, Danette Herman, Louis J. Horvitz and Brian Stonestreet will join previously announced producer Neil Patrick Harris on the production team for The 65th Primetime Emmy® Awards, Executive Producer Ken Ehrlich announced today. Basile will serve as producer for the telecast with Herman as Co-Producer. Additionally, the program will be directed by Louis J. Horvitz while Brian Stonestreet will serve as Scenic Designer for The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards telecast, airing live coast-to-coast on Sunday, September 22nd 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT) on CBS from the NOKIA Theater L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles.

This is the fifth time Basile will serve as a producer for the Primetime Emmy Awards, having previously worked alongside Ehrlich during the 57th, 58th, 59th and 60th Emmy telecasts. Basile has produced major television series events, including Celine Dion: Opening Night Live Las Vegas, Marc Anthony: I've Got You, Nick Cannon Presents: Wild N' Out, Michael Jackson Memorial and several Grammy Nomination Concert Live! events.

Co-Producer Danette Herman has enjoyed long associations with some of television's biggest productions. This will be her 24th year as a key member of the Primetime Emmy® production team, having last served as co-producer on the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards. Herman served as Coordinating Producer for the 35th Kennedy Center Honors, The 85th Oscars and The 85th Oscars Red Carpet Live Pre-Show, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' The Governor's Awards, and was co-producer of The Producers Guild of America's The Producers Guild Awards.

Louis J. Horvitz is one of the most accomplished and prolific directors of live television event broadcasting. He has directed one of the most watched television programs, the annual Academy Awards telecast, a record 12 times, receiving 14 Emmy nominations and winning six Emmys for consistently turning out seamless and elegant work under pressure. Also, he helmed the Primetime Emmy Awards a total of 16 times, directed The Kennedy Center Honors for 20 years and the American Film Institute (AFI) Life Achievement Award tributes a total of 21 times. Most recently, he directed the Golden Globe Awards, Grammy Awards and Billboard Music Awards. Horvitz is a DGA winner as well as a three-time recipient of the NAACP Image Award. He directed the XXI Winter Olympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies, along with music specials, tributes and concerts for such legends as Smokey Robinson, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon and The Rolling Stones.

Brian Stonestreet is a three-time Emmy Award-winning production designer, having worked in live and televised events for over 20 years. His television credits include the Grammy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Billboard Awards, BET Awards, Hip Hop Awards and the Kennedy Center Honors. His live event credits include this year's TED Summit, the Lexus and Chrysler Dealer Rollouts, L.A. LIVE Holiday Event, BET Upfronts and Miss Universe Beijing.
