Wildfire Relief

We know the catastrophic wildfires that hit the Los Angeles area have had a devastating impact on the lives of many of our members. Some of you lost or had to evacuate your homes, an even greater number of you were without power or were affected in innumerable ways. Productions had to shut down; others were postponed.

To help with the relief efforts, the Television Academy Board of Governors has approved a $250,000 donation to the Entertainment Community Fund, supporting their great work in providing assistance to anyone in the entertainment industry in need. In addition, the Board has approved another $125,000 in funds to match donations from Television Academy members.

We encourage any member who is able to donate to please do so at EntertainmentCommunity.org/2025CAFiresTVA so that your contribution can be matched by the Academy.

And we urge any member needing emergency financial assistance, or simply looking for wildfire resources, to reach out to the Entertainment Community Fund/CAFires for help. For member-specific information check Wildfire Resources on your Member Dashboard.

Now more than ever, it is important that production thrives in California, a state where the majority of Academy membership lives. That's why we strongly support the recently proposed extension of tax incentives announced by California Governor Gavin Newsom, which will encourage and stimulate the expansion of production across the state. We urge the state legislature to approve this incentive package which will spark economic activity, retain and restore production jobs statewide, and help Los Angeles rebuild.

We are a resilient industry and a caring Television Academy community. And together we will continue to thrive.

Stay safe, stay well.
